Washington Occupational Information System
'WOIS'

CHoSS has purchased a wonderful tool for career development. It is called “Washington Occupational Information System” or WOIS for short. We will refer to it as WOIS.

WOIS was discovered by two CHoSS moms who attended a career fair with their students. They relayed the information to the board, which was followed up by then board president Susan Escobedo. After taking a look at what an asset this would be to our group, the board voted to approve a membership for the school year. As with anything that we spend money on, we want it to be of benefit to our members. This website is a wealth of information, including assessment tools to help students identify what careers match their skills and interests. We are hoping that this website is used by the CHoSS teens to help them make career choices based on areas of talents, interests and strengths in their lives.

This is an annual subscription. If it is not used, we will not continue with it. A key (password) is necessary to access the site. We will not publish the key, as it is the private code for our group. Please contact Susan Escobedo at 360-273-2496 or escodebofamilia@comcast.net and she will gladly give you the key. Once you have been given the key, it is for the use of your family only. We are not authorized to allow people outside of CHoSS membership to access the site with our code.

The purchase of this subscription is an example of CHoSS families sharing their interests and needs with the board and the CHoSS board acting on that to add a benefit to our membership. It is the desire of the board to serve the CHoSS membership and keep this an organization that is useful and active.
